Objectives:

To share successful coaching strategies between schools
To determine the feasibility and implementation strategies for learning walks in member districts
To collaboratively determine effective strategies for implementing instructional coaching without or with limited release time
To actively participate in the adaptation of lessons to incorporate the BDA model and improve student engagement
To become proficient at incorporating Type 1&2 writing opportunities into content area lessons

Agenda:

"But I Teach Math"
- Review online discussion posts
- Discuss implications of the article
Incorporating Collins Writings type 1&2 into daily content area lessons
- What are type 1 and type 2 writings?
- Explore and develop ideas
- How can we share this?
Lesson Adaptation
- Write a quick synopsis of a lesson you have recently taught that you think could have been more engaging.
  - How would you use the BDA model in this lesson?
  - How could you incorporate type 1 or 2 writings into this lesson?
- Pair-Share
BDA templates:
- As a group, begin designing BDA "templates" to take back to school
- For use in sharing / demonstrating the BDA model in lessons and in coaching
